Hi, Is there any way to de-coke an engine without stripping the whole thing to bits, for example adding thing to the fuel ect cheers

you can get additives to the fuel but i think most of these just flush the system the only tru way is to remove the heads which is quite a mission
all i can say is see if what your local factor stocks maybe theyv got some obscure product good luck

i dont think de-cokeing is a good idea for an engine unless you are stripping it anyway. as long as its not doing any harm (which in mosy cases it wont be.) plus adding oil additives can cause a whats known asviscous wedge it close tolerance parts and promote bearing wear. the engine should remove and burn excess coke and as long as you engine is in good nick n tuned right it will keep it to a minimum.

a bit of diesel in with the petrol that will do the trick the old fashion way
